A Quick and Random Post

Hi again! I'm not usually a Sunday poster, but I wanted to say that having the kids' birthday at a "party place" was soooo worth it! I worried all week for nothing! They took care of everything and it was great! :)

Also, if you haven't read The Maze Runner yet, you can read the beginning for free on Amazon HERE, and decide if it grabs you the way it grabbed me. If anyone didn't catch my non-review on it, you can find it directly below this post, and if you MUST read a real review, check out Jessica's or Mary's, but truly, going into the book without any idea of the plot was a lot of fun for me.

Last thing... does anyone else love reading reviews of books AFTER they've read the book?? Maybe I just do it because I don't have anyone in face-to-face life to talk books with :) Anyway, happy Sunday everyone!

  1. Yay for it being over!

So, what was your ending party count?

I think I'll ask the husband for the Maze Runner for Christmas. I'm going to try to get some good reading in over the holidays.

  3. I got a chuckle out of that Wendy :) Indeed, yay!!

My ending party count was 25 kids and 32 adults, so I was glad I went out and did the extra goodie bags because I only had 24 bags at first. And this count was after one of my adorable godkids and three sweet little cousins cancelled, so it would have been 29 kids plus more adults, but in any case, it was fine and wonderful; the place was ALL inflatable bouncey things, private, clean, and I am so glad I ended up trying it this "party place" way. No dirt, no bugs, no saving a spot at the park or worrying about the rain, and the kids had a blast :)

Hmm on The Maze Runner, I was thinking of doing a giveaway... ya know, pay it forward?

  4. Hi Karen! It's always nice seeing your smiling face (I love your picture!). Thanks for "talking books" with me, I do feel like I need to share my thoughts on a great book or I might burst sometimes. If The Maze Runner turns out to be your cup of tea and you end up reading the whole thing, do send me a comment :)

  6. Wow. That is a huge crowd. Thank goodness you didn't try to throw that many inside a house. Blech.

  7. Hi Shigune, I will take a look at your post asap. Thanks for stopping by! :)

Hi again Wendy... agreed! Plus my house is teeny-tiny, it would not have worked, ha!

  8. Yes, I do love to read reviews of book I've read. I talk to my husband about books that I'm excited about and he doesn't seem to mind but I really like to discuss them (even in comments) with others who enjoy reading as much as I do. I don't really know anyone (face-to-face) who likes books as much as I do. *sigh*
But that's another reason to ♥ the blogosphere. :)

I'm glad the party went well. Having to take care of everything, and then cleaning up after everyone is gone, could have turned into a real headache. It's good that you were able to enjoy yourself as well.

Thanks for linking me! I really appreciate it. :)

  9. Aw Jessica, that's sweet that your husband listens to you talk books. When I talk books with my husband and he flops on the floor in a fake coma. He does the same thing when I'm late on dinner.

  10. I know what you mean. It's always best to have your child's birthday parties at a "party place" as there are people who will always be there to take care of all your whims, and it really just is a lot less stressful than having childrens parties at home. In the end, it really is soooo worth it! And! The kids have a lot more fun, too! :) And, you don't have to be the host! :)

  11. Hi C, always a pleasure :) You are sooo right about kids' parties, definitely easier. And it was fun being able to actually enjoy the party with my kids and know that someone else was on top of things :)
