Reasons to Celebrate!

Today is Writing Roller Coasters' big ten day anniversary!! For ten days we've laughed, cried, thought and sighed, and now, my six loyal Followers (never mind that I'm my own follower so technically it's only five), we look to the future. What awaits? Passion? Adventure? More rhetorical questions? Stick around and find out!

And here's another reason to celebrate: Writing Roller Coasters has been nominated for a very cute award, known as the Lemonade Award. Yay for turning lemons into lemonade, one of life's sweetest recipes!

Thanks to Danni at Romantic Harbor for this award, the support, and especially for her beautiful book review blog! You should definitely check it out. She has contests and a teaser game that led me to an author I never tried before. Plus, she's a great book reviewer! Thanks again Danni!

Now that my blog has been nominated I'm set with the task of nominating ten other worthy recipients...

Here are the rules:~Put the Lemonade Award logo on your blog or post.~Nominate at least 10 blogs that show great attitude or gratitude.~Link your nominees within your post.~Let the nominees know they have received this award by commenting on their blog.~Share the love and link to the person from whom you received the award.

Thanks everyone who's following or reading Writing Roller Coasters! I hope you're having fun!

  1. Diana - thank you for the award and for becoming a follower of my blog. I always think that no one is reading and I am so excited when I get comments from new people or from anyone actually. Sounds like you are a writer too. Where are you at with your WIP. I am about a third of the way done with my rough draft. Nice to meet you good luck with your writing.

  3. Hi Mary!! I feel the same way about my blog and laugh at my silliness, thinking, "Really, I could write about pretty much anything because it's just going out into cyberspace and no one will ever see this!"

I love when anyone comments too, I think you are probably the seventh person to do so...thank you!

Very good luck finishing your rough draft. Is it your first novel? There's something special about getting to the very end of that first one. Once you do you realize what you're capable of, I think :)

  4. Thanks for the fun nomination. I'm kind of a cybermoron, so I may not be able to post the lemonade logo or do all the links, but I'll visit and comment as much as possible. You're right about the thrill of the query--at least at first. It's so scary it makes you giddy.

  5. Thank Anne, I doubt most people do the award-link things...I'm so new at blogging it gave me something to do!!

As for querying, I used to hate it. I'd feel devastated at the rejections and back then I didn't know better and queried right to editors. Actually when I first started there was no such thing as "email" queries, it was unheard of, and the waiting was awful. Then I took a break to write another book and learn a little more about publishing in general, and when I came back it was like the querying world gone through a futuristic time machine or something!
